Get into the buzz of the first Rarotonga Aquafest on August 2 and you could win a round trip to Aitutaki to attend this year’s Manureva Aquafest – the kitesurfing and watersport festival.
The Rarotonga Aquafest will be run on the beach at Vaiana’s beach bar in Nikao and is being organised to promote the Manureva Kitesurfing competition on Aitutaki , which also includes an aquafest day full of watersport fun and games.
The Manureva Kitesurfing competition and Aquafest will be held from September 1 to 5 on Aitutaki and is sponsored by Cook Islands Tourism, Cook Islands Yacht Squadron, Air Rarotonga, Etu Moana Bungalows, Samade on the Beach, The Reef Aitutaki, Telecom, Edgewater, Wet n Wild, KiteSup, Pakas Pearls and Summerfield Systems.
On offer for Aquafest enthusiasts will be individual and team races, including fun swimming, running, a stand up paddle board race as well as oe vaka and a combination of all the races.
The entry fee is $5 per person and teams consist of three people.
Participants will also get Vaiana’s discount specials on food and drinks for the day.
There are both junior and open divisions, and loads of fun guaranteed with the witty Tony Fe’ao as the master of ceremony.
A live band will be serenading the crowd and Nikao sunset and with loads of spot prizes and like-minded people to meet and mingle with – mark August 2 as Aquafest fun day and get along to the Nikao beach.
